It has been a cold winter. We usually only get a week of temperatures in the teens to single digits but this year we almost had a whole month of that stuff in January. Thank goodness we only had a few calves born during this time but the majority were embryos. Things have since thawed out and we are back to an Western Idaho winter of 55 degrees today and sunshine galore. The cattle are still on stalks and doing good and will start calving here in a week... Then the wreck will begin. Last year my record was tagging 52 calves in one day and it's absolutely impossible to tag every calf. We are lucky to get 50%!
